The Senior Trip 2021

The Senior Trip is an annual IA East excursion that was finally restored this year. It was the first time the trip took place at the YMCA Camp Ohiyesa in Holly. Thanks to Ms. Toepel and Ms. Beski, this valued tradition was able to continue despite initial setbacks. They ensured that we had a great time no matter what. This day was filled with memories that we’ll cherish throughout the rest of our lives. In my opinion, the entire experience showed how resilient the class of 2022 is.
Despite the thunderstorms preventing us from having a campfire, we still managed to come together inside the cabin and make our own traditions with games. Plus, we still got to enjoy some smores while fairy lights lit up the room with a warm glow and the words of our friends and classmates also lit our hearts. We enjoyed many different activities like canoeing, climbing the Alpine Tower (or at least trying to), practicing team-building skills, playing different sports at the courts, zooming down the zip line, and screaming as we swung down from the giant swing. Some of us, and our phones, went in an impromptu dive after tipping over in our canoes. By the end of the day, we all grew closer together as seniors because of this wonderful trip that we’ll surely never forget.
